Webinar: Critical Incident Management System (CIMS) Training

Attention Program Providers… Are you reporting incidents in the Critical Incident Management System?  As of November 1, 2022, it became a requirement for DBMD, HCS, TxHmL, and CLASS providers to report critical incident information into the CIMS system.

It is anticipated that MCO provider roll-out of the CIMS reporting requirement will take place in the first quarter of 2023 for MDCP - STAR Kids/STAR Health, and STAR PLUS HCBS.

If you are one of the provider types listed above, you NEED to attend this webinar!!

The Critical Incident Management System is a new reporting tool for program providers to report critical incidents. Please note that this does NOT replace the HCSSA reporting regulations at 558.249.

Do you know…

Why this requirement was implemented?

How many CIMS location administrators should you have?

Have you and required staff members attended the required training?

What types of incidents are considered critical incidents for CIMS reporting?

What if a designated employee no longer works for the agency?

What happens if providers fail to report incidents in CIMS?

What is the timeframe for reporting incidents in CIMS?

What happens if agency ownership changes?

Do we still have to report to HHSC/DFPS?

Do we report incidents if they are not witnessed?

If you don’t know the answers to the above questions, or if you have other questions or concerns about CIMS, you NEED to attend this webinar!
